Profile of the Master's Program in Communication Science
Master’s Program in Communication Science (Prodi Mikom), FISIP, Universitas Diponegoro is established as an advanced educational platform focused on the development of communication science based on research and strategic practice. With two main concentrations, this program is designed to address communication challenges in the digital era and global society.
2008
Establishment
The Master’s Program in Communication Science (Prodi Mikom) was officially established under the Department of Communication Science, FISIP, Universitas Diponegoro. This establishment was based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 4685/D/T/2008 dated December 31, 2008.
2009
Program Launch & First Student Cohort Admission
The Mikom Study Program began its academic journey by admitting its first cohort of students. The program was designed with two flagship concentrations: Media, Culture & Society Studies and Strategic Communication Studies, to meet the need for excellent human resources in the field of communication.
2017-2022
First Accreditation & National Recognition
On October 17, 2017, the Mikom Study Program achieved an “A” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) through Decree Number 3863/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/X/2017, valid until October 17, 2022. This achievement marked a historic milestone as the program’s first accreditation and served as proof of the Mikom Study Program’s dedication to creating a quality academic environment and producing graduates who are competent and adaptive to the dynamics of communication in the global era.
