Graduate Profile
Academic / Lecturer
A communication scientist capable of conducting teaching, research and publication, and community service related to Media, Culture and Society as well as Strategic Communication.
Media Researcher
A media research designer and implementer using qualitative and quantitative approaches, capable of providing input to decision-makers in organizations in need, such as media institutions, government agencies, NGOs, and other profit and non-profit institutions.
Strategic Communication Researcher
A Strategic Communication research designer and implementer using qualitative and quantitative approaches, capable of providing input to decision-making in organizations in need, whether for-profit or non-profit companies.
Communication Professional
A designer and implementer of professional work in the field of strategic communication (business/social/political marketing communication, advertising, public relations, Strategic Communication consulting) who upholds the code of ethics.
Graduate Competencies
From the graduate profile, each graduate is expected to possess various competencies as a manifestation of the learning outcomes of the Mikom Study Program, including competencies as a researcher, educator, and professional, namely:
- Able to conduct analysis and synthesis regarding the interconnections between media, culture, and society by examining the roles, functions, impacts, and changes brought by media to society across various fields such as governance, politics, business, health, environment, arts, entertainment, creative industries, and other sectors.
- Able to conduct analysis and synthesis of the fundamental strategic principles in understanding internal and external stakeholders when facing globalization, government regulations and policies, digitalization, changing societal expectations, and environmental changes.
- Able to translate conceptual theoretical knowledge about media to provide input/advice, policy recommendations, and practical applications to relevant institutions in need, grounded in the principles of media ethics.
- Able to translate the principles of strategic communication to provide input, advice, policy recommendations, and practical applications related to strategic communication issues to relevant institutions, grounded in the principles of communication ethics.
- Able to identify stakeholders as a basis for designing up to evaluating communication programs to achieve strategic goals in business, social, and political institutions.
- Master the fundamental theories of Media, Culture, and Society in various domains of community life: political, economic, and social.
- Master the principles of Strategic Communication in business, social, cultural, and political contexts.
- Master the fundamental principles of communication research.
- Master the principles of media research to explain and expand understanding of the relationship between media and societal change in various fields: political, economic, and socio-cultural.
